The first CITROËN DS3 Cabrio designed by L'Uomo Vogue makes world debut in Milan

CHIC DRIVING, the philosophy of traveling freely "with style" and elegance

The first CITROËN DS3 Cabrio designed by L'Uomo Vogue made its world debut in Milan on January 14, 2013.

The prototype will be sold at auction to benefit Women Create Life

During Milan Fashion Week the one of a kind CITROËN DS3 Cabrio L'Uomo Vogue prototype will make its world debut at the Studio Visconti, along with a photo exhibition, a tribute to its elegance. It's a retrospective that celebrates men's style, with a selection of the most beautiful photos from L'Uomo Vogue. More than 100 shots from photography's greatest masters will be displayed, which describe contemporary fashion and customs through the lifestyles and celebrities captured on film.

The project was created thanks to common shared values as well as a union of creativity and style. It's an idea which found a strong distinctive element in an international charitable initiative. "Proceeds from the first prototype's silent auction," says Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief of L'Uomo Vogue, "will be donated in full to Women Create Life, a project developed under the WHO (World Health Organization), the specialized agency of the United Nations that supports and promotes activities to improve the health of women and children through art and culture. We want to celebrate Citroen and L'Uomo Vogue's efforts through this event in support of all women in the world, since they are the ones who create the conditions to promote life and development within their communities."

Thierry Metroz, Style Director of the "DS Line" in Paris, describes the project's concept as follows: "This one of a kind piece was created through the collaboration between L'Uomo Vogue magazine and the Citroën Style team. It's a unique version using specific colors and materials both internally and externally, which incorporates the DS line and L'Uomo Vogue's distinctive elements, inspired by their respective worlds and the latest trends in men's fashion. The well-crafted interior is reminiscent of sports cars from the past, painstakingly made by the Atelier Vanhulle, Master Craftsmen. Our technicians, specialized in concept cars, lent their experience and time for each component in the interior. "

An exhibition dedicated to elegance will set the event's backdrop, with photographs taken by masters of international photography that have captured actors, artists, architects, intellectuals, athletes and directors over the years for L'Uomo Vogue. These are substantial images with social and cultural implications, images that are timeless: from Michael Jackson by Bruce Weber, Cindy Sherman by Mark Seliger, Elton John and David Furnish by Steven Klein, Oliver Stone by Francis Carrozzini, Maurizio Cattelan by Greg Kadel, Penelope Cruz and Sean "Diddy" Combs by Peter Lindbergh, to Dustin Hoffman by Tom Munro.

The photo exhibition will take place at the Galleria Christian Stein at Studio Visconti, via Mozart 14, Milan.
