McDonald’s Australia is raiding its own international menus, bringing cult favourites from Japan, Canada, the UK and the US to local restaurants for a limited time.
McDonald’s Australia is giving local diners a taste of the world without the airport queues, jet lag or awkward currency conversion.
From Wednesday, 27 May 2026, Macca’s will launch its new Menu Heist range nationwide, a limited-time lineup of international McDonald’s favourites borrowed, spirited away or, in the company’s own playful language, “heisted” from menus overseas.
The range brings five items from four countries to Australian restaurants, drawing on fan-favourite products from Japan, Canada, the UK and the US. For anyone who has spent too long scrolling global Macca’s menus and wondering why another country gets all the good stuff, this may be the closest thing to fast-food justice.
Leading the haul is Japan’s Teriyaki Chicken Burger, made with a 100 per cent Australian chicken breast fillet coated in sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce, with shredded lettuce and mayonnaise in a soft bun. Japan also contributes Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets, giving the familiar golden nuggets a savoury hit of garlic and cracked pepper seasoning.
Breakfast has not escaped the raid either. From Canada comes the Benny-Style Bacon ’N Egg Bagel, featuring bacon, egg, cheese and hollandaise sauce in a warm toasted bagel. It will be available as part of Macca’s extended breakfast menu until 11.30am.
The UK adds the heftier option, the Philly Cheese Stack, made with two beef patties, grilled and crispy onions, three cheese slices, cheese sauce and pickles in a toasted bun. Subtle it is not, but then subtlety rarely sells burgers.
Rounding out the lineup is the US-inspired Special Edition GOLD Sauce, a creamy blend of sweet, smoky, mustard and tomato flavours designed for dipping fries, McNuggets and McWings, although Macca’s suggests it may be good enough to upstage whatever it is served with.
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia, said the Menu Heist range was designed to answer years of customer curiosity about international McDonald’s items.
“For the first time, Menu Heist brings together some of the most loved menu items from around the world, giving Aussies the chance to try them right here at home,” she said.
“These are flavours Aussies have been craving online for years, and now it’s finally our turn.”
The Menu Heist range will be available nationwide for a limited time through drive-thru, front counter, McDelivery and the MyMacca’s app.
In other words, no passport is required. Just an appetite, a functioning app, and perhaps a willingness to admit that sometimes the best souvenirs come with fries.
